Although cucumbers are considered an unpretentious vegetable, they don’t always produce a bountiful harvest. However, if you follow a few growing rules, you can achieve great results in any region.

Seed germination
For planting, choose winter-hardy hybrids such as Lyubimchik or Likhak. Germinate the seeds on a damp paper towel under a lid in a warm place. Cucumber roots are strong, so don’t worry about damaging them when transplanting.

Transplanting seedlings
When transplanting seedlings, it is important to use supplemental lighting to stimulate new leaf growth.

Seedling care
Harvest and feed the seedlings. Cucumbers are demanding when it comes to fertilizer, especially organic fertilizers. Apply vermicompost periodically and alternate fertilizers with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Succinic acid is a good stimulant.
