Everything you need to know to take the best care of your anthurium.
Anthurium is a fairly common plant in homes as well, as its characteristic heart-shaped red flowers help beautify our homes.
As with all plants, anthurium also requires frequent care and, above all, care specific to its characteristics.
Let’s see what you should know about this beautiful plant.
- Light : Anthurium prefers indirect sunlight; for this reason, it’s a plant that can be kept indoors as long as it’s not in a shaded area, which will facilitate flowering.
- Water : One of the most common mistakes is giving this plant much more water than it actually needs. Ideally, check your soil and water it only when it’s thoroughly dry (usually every 2 or 3 days).
- Soil : If the soil is too clayey, it can cause difficulties for the anthurium. Therefore, it’s best to choose a well-draining soil that provides oxygen and water to the roots.
- Fertilizers: Natural fertilizers are preferable, compost is even better. This should be changed at least every 3 months.
- Insects : Like many plants, anthurium is also a victim of numerous insects that can ruin leaves and flowers. For this reason, neem oil can be used.
- Propagation : the anthurium plant can be planted in different ways: through seeds, separating the roots and depositing them or through cuttings.
