When planting potatoes, do not pour these fertilizers into the holes, as they only harm the crop.

I want to warn you that not all popular fertilizers are suitable for potatoes and can negatively affect their growth. To avoid mistakes, I’ll tell you about different types of fertilizers that shouldn’t be used.

Organic products and garbage

Organic fertilizers and manure are very useful and natural substances, but they should not be used when planting tubers in holes. This method of adding fertilizers renders them unusable, as potatoes’ need for organic matter and nitrogen occurs precisely during the flowering period. During planting, the manure simply doesn’t have time to decompose and provide nutrients.

It would be best to add manure and humus in the fall or spring, when digging the soil. This way, the plant receives the maximum amount of nutrients needed for active growth.
