When we do laundry, we’re horrified to realize that our beloved clothes aren’t as spotless and perfect as we’d like. As we know, the biggest disasters happen in the washing machine: whether it’s the classic and dreaded color change from one extreme to the other, where a pretty black sweater turns pink or other indefinite colors, or when we have a pen in our pocket, for example. I forgot my jacket, which bursts and stains all over my clothes. Another big problem we’ve all had to deal with at some point is the problem of lint or hair left on our heads.
Put a towel in the washing machine, that’s absurd!
Truly a beautiful and good mess: this actually gives our clothes a neglected look that really makes us shudder. Horrible! This happens for many reasons: First, the washing machine isn’t cleaned. This causes a lot of hair to accumulate inside the filter, which settles on the clothes during the wash. It can also happen that hair and pet hair end up directly on our sweaters and infect each other: that’s why it might be worth brushing the clothes before putting them in the drum, especially if you have furry friends.
That’s why this cleaning trick is useful. If there are hairs or lint, the towel will attract them when you put them in the washing machine, reducing the number of hairs that settle on the clothes themselves. You can also use a sponge instead of a washcloth.
Another trick to prevent the formation of annoying lint is to turn our clothes inside out so that the friction between the fabrics—the main culprit—occurs on the inside, which consequently also makes them easier to wash: not bad, since on average it’s also the part of the garment that gets dirtiest.
In short, with this trick we have solved one of the centuries-old problems of laundry.
